Premium Nutrition for Growing Predators
Feeding your exotic pets the right prey is the most critical decision you make as an owner. Stoffels Frozen Rats are raised under strictly controlled conditions to ensure they are free from parasites and pathogens. The “Regular” 20g size is the “goldilocks” stage for many juvenile pythons, boas, and monitors—large enough to provide a substantial meal, but small enough to be easily swallowed and digested.
Why Choose Stoffels Ecopack?
-
Ethically Sourced: Our rats are humanely euthanized and flash-frozen to preserve cellular integrity and nutritional value.
-
High Protein & Calcium: Vital for the skeletal development of young reptiles, helping prevent Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD).
-
Eco-Conscious Packaging: The Ecopack reduces plastic waste without compromising the “freezer-burn” protection of the product.
-
Uniform Sizing: We take the guesswork out of feeding. Each 20g rat is consistently sized to ensure your feeding schedule remains predictable.
Beginner’s Guide: How to Feed
-
Defrosting: Never use a microwave. Thaw the rat in a sealed bag in a bowl of cool water for 2–4 hours, or in the refrigerator overnight.
-
Warming: Once thawed, place the bag in warm water (approx. 38°C) for 10 minutes. This mimics the body heat of live prey, triggering your pet’s natural hunting instinct.
-
Offering: Use feeding tongs (tweezers) to offer the prey. Avoid using your hands to prevent “accidental nips” and to maintain hygiene.
-
Hygiene: Always wash your hands and surfaces thoroughly after handling frozen-thawed feeders.
Pro Tip for Beginners: If your snake is hesitant, gently “wiggle” the rat with tongs to simulate movement. Most juvenile reptiles respond best to prey that appears life-like!
