Beginner’s Guide: How to Feed

1. Defrosting: Never use a microwave. Thaw the rat in a sealed bag in a bowl of cool water for 2–4 hours, or in the refrigerator overnight.

2. Warming: Once thawed, place the bag in warm water (approx. 38°C) for 10 minutes. This mimics the body heat of live prey, triggering your pet’s natural hunting instinct.

3. Offering: Use feeding tongs (tweezers) to offer the prey. Avoid using your hands to prevent “accidental nips” and to maintain hygiene.
