Premium Nutrition for Healthy Predators
Feeding your exotic pets a diet that mimics their natural intake is crucial for their long-term health, shedding cycles, and energy levels. Stoffels Frozen Rats are raised in controlled, hygienic environments and fed a high-quality grain diet to ensure they are nutrient-dense.
By using a flash-freezing process, we ensure that the integrity of the proteins and fats remains intact, preventing the degradation often found in poorly stored frozen feeders.
Why Choose the Stoffels EcoPack?
-
Ethical Sourcing: All feeders are humanely euthanized following strict welfare standards.
-
Convenience: The 3-piece pack is perfect for owners of single large reptiles, ensuring the food stays fresh without taking up excessive freezer space.
-
Eco-Friendly: Our EcoPack minimizes plastic waste, making it a responsible choice for the environmentally conscious hobbyist.
Beginner’s Guide: How to Prepare Frozen Feeders
If you are new to keeping reptiles, handling frozen prey can feel daunting. Follow these simple steps for a safe feeding experience:
-
Defrosting: Place the required number of rats in a sealed bag and leave them in the refrigerator overnight. Never use a microwave, as this can cook the meat and cause dangerous “hot spots.”
-
Warming: Before feeding, place the sealed bag in a bowl of warm (not boiling) water for 10–15 minutes. This raises the body temperature to roughly 38°C, making it more “visible” to heat-sensing pits in snakes.
-
Offering: Use feeding tongs (tweezers) to offer the prey. Never use your hands to avoid accidental bites or scent confusion.
Safety Tip: Always wash your hands and any equipment thoroughly with disinfectant after handling frozen or thawed feeders to maintain hygiene.
