Within the lake, these fish inhabit rocky habitats along the shoreline, where they seek refuge among crevices and caves while foraging for food. Lake Malawi’s diverse underwater landscape provides an ideal environment for these cichlids, offering abundant hiding places and opportunities for breeding and territorial display.

Physical Characteristics: One of the most distinctive features of the Sulphur Head Peacock Cichlid is its striking coloration, particularly in males. Adult males typically exhibit a vibrant yellow or golden body with bold, contrasting black vertical bars extending from the dorsal fin to the ventral region.
