The Microdevario Kubotai, or Kubotai Rasbora, originates from clear, vegetated streams in Myanmar and Thailand. Growing to just 2 cm, its translucent body shimmers with neon green iridescence, making it a standout in small community tanks. As a diurnal shoaler, it displays lively mid-water schooling, enhancing planted aquascapes without disturbing shrimp or plants.​

Ideal Setup for Beginners
Provide dense planting like Java moss for hiding, dim lighting, and dark substrate to highlight their glow. Use a gentle sponge filter to mimic slow-flow habitats. These tolerant fish adapt well but prefer soft, acidic water to stay vibrant.​

Feeding and Health
Offer varied micro foods: crushed flakes, baby brine shrimp, or daphnia. Feed small amounts twice daily to avoid waste. They are peaceful, non-territorial, and breed moderately in soft water with fine plants.​

Compatibility
Pairs beautifully with nano fish like Celestial Pearl Danios or Pygmy Corydoras, and invertebrates. Avoid fin-nippers or aggressive species. Start with 8-12 for natural behavior.
