Seachem Matrix™ – High-Porosity Biofiltration Media

Seachem Matrix™ is a premium, high-efficiency biological filtration media designed to support the complete nitrogen cycle within freshwater and marine aquariums. Composed of a durable, porous inorganic solid approximately 10 mm in diameter, Matrix™ offers an extensive internal and external surface area exceeding 700 m² per liter—far surpassing traditional plastic bio-media.

Unlike conventional media that provide only external surface for bacterial colonization, Matrix™ features macroporous structures that support both nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria. This allows for the effective removal of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate within the same filter environment, promoting a healthier and more stable aquatic system.

Directions for Use:
Use 250 mL of Matrix™ per 200 liters (50 US gallons) of water. Suitable for all filter types, with optimal performance in canister and drip tray systems. No filter bag required in most applications. For rapid biofilter establishment, use in conjunction with Seachem Stability®.
