Rainbow Platies are active mid-to-top water swimmers that spend their day exploring plants, decorations, and substrate. Because they are peaceful community fish, they pair exceptionally well with other non-aggressive species such as Neon Tetras, Guppies, Corydoras Catfish, and Harlequin Rasboras.

While they do not require a strict schooling setup, keeping them in small groups of 3 to 6 individuals encourages natural social behavior and brings out their brightest colors. If keeping both males and females, aim for a ratio of 1 male to every 2 or 3 females to prevent female stress, as platies are livebearers and reproduce easily.
