The Red Devil Crab thrives in a semi-terrestrial environment, ideally a paludarium composed of approximately 75–80% land and 20–25% water. Providing plenty of natural hiding places such as rocks, driftwood, and live plants encourages natural behavior and reduces stress.

As omnivores, they benefit from a balanced diet of high-quality crab pellets, fresh vegetables, and occasional live or frozen protein sources such as worms or small insects. Red Devil Crabs are known to be semisocial; males may exhibit territorial behavior, so adequate space and visual barriers are recommended in group setups.
