Silkworm pupae are a natural food source that’s rich in lipids and proteins, which are essential for healthy growth and body shape. Hikari® Silkworm Selects™ is made using advanced production techniques to preserve these nutrients, offering a high-quality treat based on traditional Japanese koi breeding practices.   

The amount of Silkworm Selects™ you feed your koi will depend on the water temperature:

• Above 20°C (68°F): Silkworm Selects™ can make up 20% to 40% of your koi’s total diet. Mix it with other Hikari koi foods and feed your koi 2 to 4 times a day, giving them only what they can eat in 5 minutes.
• Below 20°C (68°F): Use Silkworm Selects™ as an occasional treat, making up no more than 10% of their total diet. For colder temperatures, it’s best to use Hikari Wheat-Germ.
